Hello there, you look hungry! Don’t worry I have a recipe for you that is able to serve 4 people (or 1 very hungry person: no judgement)! I present to you, the Garlic and shrimp/prawn Scampi pasta! Now being a student, pasta is basically a essential staple of food in my life because 1) its cheap 2) its easy to cook and 3)you can make a variety of different flavours. So if you want to try something new, I highly suggest you give this a go! Have fun and happy eating 🙂

Ingredients

  • 250grams of Spaghetti
  • 600grams of raw prawns/shrimp
  • 4 cloves of garlic (more if you really like garlic)
  • 2 tablespoon of Extra virgin olive oil (normal olive oil is fine also)
  • 1/2 cup of dry white wine or broth (chicken or fish tastes nice)
  • 2 tablespoon of butter
  • salt and pepper

Optional: chopped parsley and lemon juice to squeeze on top once meal is completed

Steps

  1. Heat a pot of water and boil spaghetti according to packet intructions
  2. Peel the prawns and de-vein them
  3. Heat a pan with butter and oil to melt
  4. Cut the garlic into fine pieces (or use a garlic crusher) and sauté in pan until lightly browned
  5. Add the wine or broth and allow it to simmer for about 2mins
  6. Add the prawns/shrimps and cook until they have turned pink
  7. Once spaghetti has cooked, drain them well and add them to the pan to stir through
